This inspiring novel shows that no one is beyond redemption. By conveying the depth of Malcolm Little’s criminal activity prior to his religious conversion (and adoption of the name Malcolm X), Ilyasah Shabazz and Kekla Magoon humanize him instead of portraying him as a victim or a saint.
